Rumbek East County launched county police headquarters construction programme
November 14, 2011 (JUBA) – Lakes state authorities have launched a programme for the the construction of police headquarters in the eight counties of the state.
The announcement was made at the opening of Rumbek East county police headquarters on Thursday, by Lakes state police commissioner, Saed Chawuol Lom Ayual.
Ayual said, “we started earlier this year. We began in Awerial, Maper, Nyang, Aluakluak and today we are starting with Rumbek East, Rumbek Central county and Cueibet county – we are aiming to have least one police headquarters or one in each county.”
The commissioner of Rumbek East, David Marial Gumke, welcomed the construction of the police headquarters.
He said that the construction involved the destruction on ten households, the owners of which will be allotted new plots of land.
The contractor supervisor, Akuc Awutting, said that construction company, Thiang Bau, will try it level best to meet the deadline for the completion of the Rumbek East’s first police headquarters.
