The vice president of Kenya, Kalonzo Musyoka, reiterated his government’s stance on Monday in Mombasa, Kenya, in the presence of the vice president of South Sudan, Riek Machar Teny, and a number of ministers and deputy ministers from both countries.

Machar arrived in the coastal city of Mombasa on Sunday leading more than 20 South Sudanese ministers and deputy ministers for a one week retreat to share experiences with their Kenyan counterparts.

Musyoka said that the Kenyan government is working on a project to construct an additional port at Lamu in south-western Kenya, which would serve the landlocked South Sudan.

Amid dispute over oil-wealth sharing with North Sudan, South Sudan has been discussing the possibility of constructing a pipeline to Lamu. South Sudanese is currently shipped from Port Sudan.

Musyoka pledged his government’s willingness to mediate between the two Sudans.

Machar commended the Kenyan government for the support it gave South Sudan during the peace process which ended two decades of civil war with the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Kenya in 2005, and led to the formation of the South Sudanese state in July 2011.

Entitled, ‘Laying a Foundation for a People Focused Government’ the retreat focused on issues of public service management; managing government business; engaging citizens in nation-building; and regional and international economics.

The management of external relations, government communications, the media and managing ethnic diversity are also among the issues to be deliberated upon.

It’s seems like you are the most idiotic person in this planet, just because you are brain-washed with Islam doesn’t mean others can follow you. We in the South resisted the so-called Arabization and Islamization, we even destroyed the so-called Mosque in our village to demonstrate such resistance and will continue to do so …

The vice president visited to Kenya was extremely interested that, make more friends at home then cooperating with enemies. Our oil pipline should be contructed in Kenya, we aggreed he is capable to maintain that relation with Relia Odiga in Kenya.
