South Sudan is not involved in the movements of JEM leader – Darfur rebels

November 23, 2011 (KHARTOUM) — The rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) on Wednesday denied that its leader manages to move to Juba with the logistical support of the South Sudan intelligence service saying such accusation comes in the context of media war between the two sides.

Today, Sudanese intelligence service accused the its South Sudanese counterpart of attempting to airlift Khalil Ibrahim leader of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) from Darfur to South Sudan.

Khartoum said it was monitoring with other friendly foreign services, Juba attempts to move JEM leader to the South Sudan with the help of two groups working under the guise of humanitarian work.

“We deny this news completely. The Republic of South Sudan does not play any role in the movements of the head of the Movement,” said JEM spokesperson Gibreel Adam Bilal. He added that Khalil is in Darfur under the protection of the troops which were able to take him out of Libya.

The rebel spokesperson further stressed by such allegations, Khartoum confirms his presence in Darfur to the contrary of what it was saying in the past weeks.

Khalil returned to Darfur last September after spending more than a year in Libya where he was confined since May 2010 when Chad refused to allow him to cross through Ndjamena to Darfur.

Sudanese officials made conflicting statements about his whereabouts. Some said he is in a remote area of North Darfur near Chad, while the army recently denied his presence inside the country.

Unconfirmed reports say he was behind JEM decision to endorse the pact of alliance with three rebel groups aiming to overthrow the Sudanese government. Last August, while he was in Libya, the group showed some reserves on the issue of secular state.

The four groups of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) announced earlier in November that a meeting between the leaders of the alliance members will be held soon. Khalil Ibrahim is the only leader who is in Darfur while other rebel leaders are outside the country with more free movement.

It has become an addicted accusations in NCP bodies that Juba is helping the rebel groups in Sudan which is not the case study as it has been denied by God fearing JEM unlike NCP which always point figures at Juba in vain. The NCP led government is in an all out campaign to brainwash the International Community to believe that Sudan is not a victim of Pagan Amum’s prophecy of a failed state by painting Juba as the aggressor as opposed to allowing the oposition to showcase the NCP’s internal political setbacks for the consumption of the media world. Time will tell that their is trouble given this alliance of the cont
