Sudan praises US warning to South Sudan on supporting SPLM-N
November 23, 2011 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese government hailed the statement released by the White House this week in which it urged South Sudan to stop any support it is providing to the Sudan People Liberation Movement North (SPLM-N).
The warning came during the recent visit by the White House Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough to the region which took him to Khartoum and Juba.
‘In Juba, Mr. McDonough and Special Envoy Lyman addressed these same crises and the need to respect the sovereignty of Sudan, including by ending support for the Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile,’ said a statement released by the National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor following the trip.
The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Khartoum Al-Obaid Marawih said that Washington’s message would contribute to the establishment of proper relations and the settlement of disputes between the Khartoum and Juba.
“We call on countries of the world to support this trend,” Marawih said expressing his hope that South Sudan would listen to the US.
“We realise that the leadership of the south is friends with the United States and therefore Washington can exert pressure more than advice to the southern government to stop supporting the insurgency in Blue Nile and South Kordofan,” he added.
South Kordofan and Blue Nile have been the scene of an armed conflict between the Sudanese army (SAF) and SPLM-N fighters who were part of the army of the now independent state of South Sudan.
The conflict killed hundreds and displaced thousands of citizens as the UN reported violations that may amount to ’war crimes’ and ’crimes against humanity’ if substantiated.
Since the fighting started, Khartoum accused Juba of providing military aid to the SPLM-N and as such lodged two complaints so far this year with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) protesting this.

McDonough did not really accomplish what he came for as he listened only to Arab complaints forgetting the fact that they are the ones helping SSLA and attacking refugees from Blue nile in Unity and upper nile States, MC should not look only at how somebody explains things but reason behind it.Has he forgotten what happened in Abyei or doesn`t mind of non Arab? He will see the true Arabs color!

Brother Billy, Don’t blame this man of US called Mc Donough, because SPLM including SPLA of it don’t know how to play politics. Look! How can North commit atrocities by bombing South, taking Abyei by force, and Taking Ajaj( they named it Heglig) and this Ajaj is a homeland of Ngok Ruweng and SPLM/A is still dormant. How could Sudan give logistic support LRA, if you know what is meaning of logistic support?!Sudan have to cross all of SS to be able to give any suuport to LRA, which is impossible!They will need logistic support, themselves, before they could help any. SPLA was not form by US and we fought US during the cool war. We have many Allied if US is still with Khatuom. western companies used pioson gasese in western UpperNile to swept out Indigenious people in Sudan.

Those who engineered Nairobi and Dar es Salaam USA embassies and continue to massacre innocent mothers and children of Darfur, Nuba and Blue Nile states got an OK to continue with their job to finishing point as planned. It is a sad day for children and mothers of those three regions.
