Police fired into the air to disperse the demonstrators who withdrew after their leaders got assurance that the papers will be released shortly.

An anonymous student of Bor ‘B’ Primary School explained that “every pupil paid 31 South Sudanese Pounds [US$12] for printing of the examination papers but we have been waiting for long.”

Some sources within Bor county education office suggested that an insufficient number of examination papers, which were printed in Uganda, were transported to Bor this week.

The Bor town inspector of schools, Gabriel Panchol, addressed the angry pupils, saying that the papers only arrived on Wednesday night and that there were difficulties in getting them to Bor village.

The strike ended after an hour-long discussion between student leaders and education officials in which it was agreed that the exams would begin on Friday and end on Saturday.

About 2,000 pupils took part in the protest.

So bad for the illiterated leaders to take care of the country. Dr John Garang De Mabior Atem was the one that know how education is the way of developing the country, but for these looser Kiir and Kuol manyang pluse other hopless leaders who think they are educated but not will not going to be bother for this generation future education. God ve mercy on south Sudan.

None of whom you’re favoring is perfect. I know everyone has a dark side and a good side. But your King had no good side at all. Your King’s idea of governance is what this goverment is practicing, and it’s a self service as you might already know. That’s why Riek’s ideas have never been implemented cuase if they do, there would be no more self-service. Seven years without computer and printers?WO

Very unfortunate to force intitution to do the job. Why not them to do exams by themselves. Shame on those who fool poor pupils. I didn’t hear one day the exams of two days. Don’t spoil Bor people it is best known as land of believers Christians.

That is unfortunate for East African products to be involved in such embezzlement of funds and cheat students by lying to them, that administration would have been beaten up properly if i would be the one masterminding the strike because they can’t talked out their academic difficulties to the Minister for Education at state level. How can an autonomous country or state request for printing outside?

The reluctance of our leaders especially the education officers in Jonglei state will keep our children at bush rather than to be in school.I appreciated the pupils for their demonstration against the teachers and education officers to demand their right to Education. The ministry of education in JONGLEI is just warming his/her position, allow me to say. They should provide enough facilities for edu

Dear brothers, stop critism and for sure you are all educated. I look at it importance to advise schools management at Bor and south Sudan at large to make sure education sector is well addressed at all capacities. Pupils are right to go on the streets demanding their right.

Next time exams should be given to them in Novemeber not in Decement. It make no meaning when you delay like this.

It is really a pity. How on earth you prepare your students for exams and the exams never come?Surely the pupils were fighting for their rights. What is the use of budgeting in the Ministry of Education in Bor or National Ministry? Why take money for printing? We cry for development and we fail to do the right thing for the devpt to take-off. Education is a key for South Sudan nobody should temperwi

A child fighting for education right is an asset for our nation’s future. Bor education administration should know Dinka-Bor people are attached to education more than anything in life. they can take someone life in need of education, they are unlike stupid majority of Greater….Bar el…G whose their childern thinks of food and corruption in GOSS.

I was trying to respond to “community distroyer” which is Dinka spla in this case. I am nothing like Dinka spla because my name doesn’t discribe what tribe I am from unlike DINKA SPLA. Dinka Spla needs somebody to shut him up and that person could be anybody. Sorry bro if I generalize all Dinka but I didn’t mean to. But I am way better than Dinka Spla.
