Political Parties Leadership Forum meets today in Juba
January 6, 2012 (JUBA) – The leaders of the various political parties in South Sudan are scheduled to meet today, Friday, in Juba to deliberate on the establishment of a constitutional review commission for the new independent state.
In accordance with the transitional constitution of South Sudan, a commission shall be established to facilitate the process of forming a permanent constitution, which shall come into effect by the end of the four year transitional period.
On Thursday the Office of the Vice President, Riek Machar Teny, issued a press release announcing the convening of the Political Parties Leadership Forum meeting on Friday in J-One Presidential Palace at 6:00pm, Friday evening.
All the political parties’ leaderships are invited to attend. The President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit, will address the opening of the Forum.
