February 4, 2012 (KHARTOUM) – Troops from Sudan, Chad and the Central African Republican (CAR) who serve as part of joint units completed their deployment on the borders, a government sponsored website said.

The Sudanese Media Center (SMC) quoted Colonel Faisal Babiker who heads the tripartite joint forces said that the deployment was done at the border points of Um Davuk, Daffaq and Skakidah.

Colonel Babiker told SMC that the security protocol signed between the three countries is being implemented as planned. He said that the troops reached Birau and Shaidi in CAR, stressing that the presence of the joint units directly impacted the stability of the borders thus reversing the trend of crimes, limiting the movement of bandits as well as encouraging residents to return to their villages.

The military official also revealed that they have contributed to reconciliations between several tribes scattered in the region through coordination of efforts with the joint forces and executive administrations to border localities.
