Fatal road accident in South Sudan’s Lakes state kills 20
February 13, 2012 (RUMBEK) – A Landcruiser and minibus collided in Lakes state on Sunday killing 20 people, a local official said.
Traffic police officer, John Dutt, said 20 bodies were removed from the scene and seven people have been admitted to hospital. He said that some of the bodies were yet to be collected from Rumbek and Tonj East hospitals, by their families.
Among those who dies is one Sudan People’s Liberation Army finance officer, Tong Machar popularly known as “Tango”.
The collision occurred when a vehicle heading from Juba to Wau hit another coming from the opposite direction.
