Lakes State Governor announces new cabinet
May 1, 2012 (RUMBEK) – The Governor of Lakes State, Chol Tong Mayay, announced his long-awaited state cabinet on Tuesday night comprised with a new ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport making a total of 13 state ministers.
Lakes State’s new cabinet has two female ministers; the minister of Physical Infrastructure lead by Ms. Adak Costa Mapuor; and the minister of Parliamentary Affairs Mariam Paul Jebi.
The reshuffle was implemented using three separate decrees. The first – Decree No.10/2012 – relieved Athian Majak Malou from his position as director general of the Ministry of Rural Development.
In Decree No.11/2012 Mayay also relieved two advisors; Ms. Adak Costa Mapuor as advisor for Gender and Human Right; as well Mr. Machuor Marial Wuol as advisor for Food Security.
Decree No.12/2012 appointed the 13 ministers and a new commissioner for the state’s headquarters, Rumbek.

SPLM party Oyee , Thank mr Governor Chol you did your part of appointed your state cabinet it’s seem you come up with new foot-step out of our former governor foot-step . people can not say again now that is Akon-buoi cabinet they all names came from greater Lake state of it eight counties . I can say to you guys who take this ministers past That ( Everything comes to those who wait) but among the blind the one-eyed man is king . you must to hold your hand together and work harder to the people of Lake state in terms of development and insecurity in the state . Good work mr Chol Tong , Cheers .

Congratulations to Eng. chol Tong for the new government. It is inclusive and that is what we the people of Lakes State want.
Whoever is unhappy with this government than he/she is dictator.
However, the most important thing is that there are new faces than previously thought and that mean there will be many things that will be achieved in the new government.
Chol Tong has really reflect his words during the elections and if not Jok Ayom Majak can prove it, because in his payam Chol Tong lost by 13 votes to Kuc Abyiei who got 9 thousand votes, but yet Jok is being appointed as minister.

Dor community of Matangai Payam are being astonished and disgraced by H.E. Eng. Chol Tong Mayai.
The incumbent governor of Lakes State earn more voters in Matangai Payam and specifically in the (2) Bomas of Dor community where he swipe his opponent Gabriel Kuc Abeyi who is the sun of the area by far margin, as oppose to his home Payam of Amongpiny where H.E. the governor earn less voters and supporters.
Dor community is the leading section in Keui community as whole, they failed to get SPLM Electoral College endorsement in April; the reason that sparks their anger and compelled them to write a petition letter to the higher SPLM body in Juba (political Bureau) in April.
They are left at a crossroad unrepresented anywhere while the rest of the sections get more seats to various government positions as shown below:

H.E. the elected governor promise to consider Dor community in his executive positions, the promise that did not see the light as the new cabinet is introduced and Dor community representative is yet to appear anywhere. In case some readers may wonder and say what about (Adack Kosta who is now elected as Advisor for Gender), is it she from Dor? Yes she is from Dor section but her being there does not represent us, in a well informative letter from Dor elders; Eng Chol was given choices other than Adack Kosta, but the man failed to adhere to community opinion and elected her despite rejections that was made in its stronger terms. Is that means we are no longer SPLM members and our opinion is not respected? Or is it an early invitation for us to oppose his government in early stages? Or can we define this as punishment because his stronger opponent Gabriel Kuc Abyei is the son of Matangai Payam?
Our community is confused and need to be rescue from this government. Somebody need to show us our political affiliation if other than SPLM because a large community as such cannot failed all levels of government. Where is the fairness? Who is to be blame of any wrong doing shall it occur?
I know our SPLM party has this reputation of only “breast feeding the child that cries out louder, but the one that stays cool, SPLM think it is OK” No we are not ok, we are suffering from within, we sad this over and again, but SPLM secretary Mr. Mathiang Kiir made no effort to defend our rights in his end, perhaps he took our downfalls as his advantage to bring in people of his own choice.

The youth of Lakes are rally behind you so let leave behind our differences in elections and govern the State in peace and harmony.

For those who actually complaint of being left out, please the room is inadequate thus let join our hands and hearts to hit the target of 2011 referendum where we shall all get opportuinties.
