Ayuel and their neighbouring clan, Dachuek, had a long-term land dispute that led to the killing of more than 20 men and left about 37 people with injuries, in fighting that broke out in Wuanglei on March 3.

The Nyadeng peace initiative has brought the two clans under the same umbrella, according to Akoi on Sunday.

The current spate of conflict began when a fight broke out in a church on March 3. This conflict spilled out onto the street and began to split along ethnic fault-lines.

Former Bishop, Nathanial Garang called for people to pray for an end to all the conflict between the two clans.
