Lakes State speaker ….
Press statement
Date:17/6/2012
The reopening of the State Legislative Assembly in Aweil is a gesture of
good work and a desire to serve people of Aweil. It is not turmoil as
implicated by the article published by the Citizen Newspaper on
Saturday,June 16/2012 that was carrying Speaker’s opinion.
Following the unfit motion to lead the assembly raise against him the
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly by the legislators, many unnecessary
statements have been baselessly laid upon H.E. the governor who has had no
significant influence in the impeachment.
It is a gesture of bad faith and lack of political will at the side of the
speaker to base his argument on the rumours.
The utterance that there were only seventeen out of forty-nine
parliamentarians is a mere replicate, all the parliamentarians where
present and the absentees were only five including himself who refused to
show up after several calls.
Three out of the five absentees are those who were recently impeached
following their different counts that have made people withdrew confidence
in them and one was permitted to go for medication abroad.
The public should be informed that there was/is no interference from the
governor on the people’s house, rather the governor is concentrating much
of his efforts on the state security and that is a very dear thing that
people of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state are in dismal need of now.
The quotation of article 99 sub-article (F) is a right quotation but it
has been misplaced as nothing like violation of the constitution is
concerned because the governor has never attempted to dissolve the
parliament in any way and by any means and that is why reopening was a
necessary thing to take place.
The call by the Speaker for the intervention of Juba is a vicious cycle
and it should have been very nice had he called for the alertness of the
South Sudanese on issues pertaining national security and development as
far as Khartoum aggression on the state is mounting every day. His call for
togetherness of people of the state is rightly a good call and he should
keep on that track.
His accusations levelled against the governor are baseless as they depict
a contradictory ascension on his other call for calm in the state. Mr Aguer
Wol should avoid confusing the public through media and he should also stop
levelling confounded charges on the state’s governor.
Togetherness is of paramount importance to people of Northern Bahr El
Ghazal state as far as Khartoum aggression is concerned and a desire to
fall apart on political basis is completely unwarranted for. We should put
our state first, not our interests Mr Aguer should get informed on this.
Press Secretary to the Governor of Northern Bhar el Ghazal Aweil.
