Amnesty: Bushra Gamar Hussein Rahma has been released
Bushra Gamar Hussein Rahma has been released
July 18, 2012
We have great news! Sudanese activist Bushra Gamar Hussein Rahma has been released from detention after being held by the NSS in Khartoum for one year.
During this time, he was tortured and otherwise ill treated, which- along with several hunger strikes- led to significant deterioration in his health. Upon hearing of his release at the end of June, he ended an eight-day hunger strike and has recently been discharged from hospital in a stable condition.
Bushra and his family have sent special thanks to Amnesty International and all those who took action on his case.
