Northern Bahr el Ghazal appoints heads of parliamentary committees

August 3, 2012 (JUBA)- Northern Bahr el Ghazal state on Thursday held a parliamentary ceremony to swear in heads of the specialised committees after electing its first female speaker on 23 July, state officials and members of parliament said.

Ex-speaker of the state assembly, Majang Ngor Kuany, confirmed the development to Sudan Tribune on Thursday.

The following are among the committee chairing appointments made:

  • Majang Ngor Kuany – information and communications
  • Garang Majak Bol – legal affairs
  • Deng Ayom Ayom – physical infrastructure
  • Garang Lual – finance, trade and public accounting

Bol told Sudan Tribune on Wednesday that he was chosen by consensus and that every county was represented.

“We will be sworn in tomorrow. I have been elected the chairperson of the legal affairs committee in the assembly,” he explained.
