Upper Nile’s Malakal win Inter-Schools Cup
August 11, 2012 (RUMBEK) – The South Sudan senior secondary school’s competition ended in Rumbek on 9 August, the capital of Lakes state with Upper Nile’s Malakal beating Rumbek 1-0 in the football.
The inter-schools competition began was launched by South Sudan Vice President Dr. Riak Machar Teny on August 1.
“It is friendly match competition – it is a message to those who assume Rumbek as violence state – we hosted this match and no violence reported among our player – we are proud of you” said Lakes State of Information and Communication Charles Badiri Mayen.
All ten states pupils who were attending the competition on Thursday show solidarity with the Rumbek community by cleaning Rumbek Hospital and the Deng Nhial primary school.
In the football competition, Malakal have taken the trophy cup with Lakes State in second.
In girls basketball, Rumbek girls took the trophy and Juba took second position. Warrap won the boys basketball, with Juba again in second.
In the girls Volleyball, Wau Umbili Secondary School took the trophy and Rumbek Senior Secondary School took second position. In Handball, Wau took the win trophy Rumbek brought second position.
