State officials, including the Governor and Minister of Information and Communication did not disclose the reason for the sacking.

Jonglei governor, Kuol Manyang Juuk, told Sudan Tribune from the state capital, Bor, that he was not willing to go public on the issue outside working hours. He explained that he felt the sacking of a minister was a matter “I don’t need to comment on”.

“I appointed her and I have relieved her, that is enough”, Manyang added.

Nyadak, who had served in office since 2010, making her one of the state’s longest serving ministers, said she did not know why she had been relieved of her post but continues to support the changes made by the state government.
