In a meeting held on Wednesday in Juba, the SSFA accused Alei of sacking his deputy, Yohansi Mosa, without due consultation marking a rocky start to South Sudan”s international debut as it joined the world football governing body, FIFA, in May.

Gai Chol, the SSFA media chief, said Alei has been asked to vacate his office until the next general assembly in 2013.

Alei said in a letter sent to CAF in October saying that he sacked Mosa due to his financial mismanagement, according to Radio Miraya.

The national team of neighbouring Sudan has also been subject to controversy recently. Sudan’s 2-0 win against Zambia was revoked due to the illegal inclusion of a player banned because he received yellow cards in two previous matches. The score has been recorded as a 3-0 win for Zambia, changing Sudan’s position in its 2014 World Cup group.
