Sudan to relocate military factor outside Khartoum

October 27, 2012 (KHARTOUM) – Sudan will relocate an ammunition factory outside its capital Khartoum following an air attack allegedly carried by four Israeli war planes on Tuesday 24 October

Khartoum governor, Abdel Rahman Al-Khidir announced Friday that President Omer Hassan Al-Bashir instructed to relocate the attacked factory to another site far from the urban areas.

The decision comes after reports that four people were killed and over 35 houses were damaged during the attack.

The governor in the first day of Eid visited, Friday, the families of some victims , and pledged to reconstruct a house gravely damaged where one of the four victims were killed.

The opposition parties reacted differently to the airstrike on the military factory.

Sadiq Al-Mahdi, leader of the largest opposition Umma National Party denounced the attack saying that despite their differences with the regime but they reject any aggression against the mother country.

“With regard to the issues of the nation we are all in the same trench, and this must be clear.” he further said.

While some other opposition parties opted for silence to express their indifference, Haq, a small left party, said they do not feel that the attack was directed against the national interests.

The elitist party further said the weapons and ammunitions produced by the military complex target mainly the Sudanese in Darfur, South Kordofan, east Sudan and Khartoum, and pointed out to its military alliance with the Iranian government.
