Jonglei calls for businesses to register with the government

November 11, 2012 (BOR) – Jonglei State’s Directorate of Commerce and Supply, has asked the businesses operating in Bor to attain the necessary legal registration with the government.

The director of commerce and supply, Kuol Monykuch, made the public announcement on Friday, informing companies that they needed to obtain trading licenses from the government to operate in the state for the 2012-2013 period.

According to Monykuch, airways, bus companies, money transferrers, and fuel depots are among those asked to register.

Some law firms were also asked to either register for licenses or to have their licenses renewed.

Monykuch said all the business which plan to enter for registration with the state government should do it within the month of November, warning that “failure to do so will lead to termination of the company from operation.”

He added that retailers and wholesalers were under the responsibility of the county authority, and that their registration will be monitored by the county concerned.

The state government in the captial, Bor, are sharing the process of registiring largescale businesses with the county authorities. Smaller businesses will be regisitered by county authorities.

Many businesses in Bor are operating without licenses from the state government according to the Monykuch.
