Joint committee on cease-fire in Darfur meets on Friday
KHARTOUM, July 2, 2004 (SUNA) — The joint committee on cease-fire in Darfur meets on Friday in Ndjamena, Chad, to review reports raised to it on violations of cease-fire and other issues.
Representatives of the government and arms holders [rebels] in Darfur , the Chadian mediator and representative of the African Union are to participate in the meeting.
Meanwhile, the political committee, which includes representatives of the government, the arms holders and mediators, would meet on Saturday to prepare for the coming peace negotiations.
SUNA learned that the political committee is due to discuss ways to boost the political solution. The government delegation includes the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Al-Tigani Salih Fedail, and the State Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Mohamed Yousif Abdalla.
