Lakes: Governor appoints 11 Director Generals, advisor

April 14, 2013 (RUMBEK) – The caretaker governor of South Sudan’s Lakes state, Matur Chut Dhuol, has issued a decree, appointing 11 Director General in various ministries.

lakes1-3.jpgDhoul, in a separate decree, also appointed Poth Domic Buoc, an advisor on its border matters with neighbouring Unity state.

The governor’s decrees, announced on Sunday, has attracted public outcry, given the large number of Director Generals elevated to office.

However, majority of those interviewed by Sudan Tribune, say the decree issued contravenes the public service regulation provisions, which requires the appointing authority, as a procedure, to nominate people for the council of ministers to debate on.

The minister concerned, it says, then selects the best person to work with as Director General in that specific ministry, after the council’s approval.
