The leading South Sudanese beauty pageant won the fourth position in the world’s beauty contest last year, which automatically earned her the title of Miss World Africa as she was the only African girl who came close in the inter-continental multi-nation competition.
Atong on Wednesday explained her program to the country’s vice-president, Riek Machar, highlighting the role she played and continues to play in promoting South Sudan’s international relations using her cultural exchange platform that connects her with famous international counterparts.
The young intelligent and English-fluent 2012/2013 pageant told the press after meeting the vice-president that she had invited to South Sudan a number of leading international beauty pageants from Indonesia, Venezuela, Czec Republic, Israel and South Africa, etc., in order to acquaint them with the new country.
The goodwill ambassador will organize a cultural event on international solidarity in Juba on 22nd June 2013, during which two South Sudanese girls will be selected in the presence of her international guests.
The next two girls will compete in the upcoming two separate events of Miss Earth and Miss International competitions due to take place late this year in Philippine and Japan, respectively, she said.
