Rumbek Prison Service Boss accused of pension funds misappropriated

June 1, 2013 (RUMBEK) – The director of South Sudan Lakes state prison services is being accused of being directly involved in the misappropriation of the Prison Pension Funds.

South Sudan president Salva Kiir Mayardit has renewed his policy of zero tolerance against corruption in the country at various rallies across the country. Consequently, South Sudan Council of ministers deliberated on this statement and affirmed to it by passing a resolution on September 20, 2011.

South Sudan national minister of Interior Alison Monani Magaya adopt the president and council of ministers resolution and send directive to entire head of departure across prison services.

In a letter leak to Sudan Tribune, staffs in Lakes State prison services accused their boss Brigadier Bol Ador Ader of having mismanage pension funds.

Official in Lakes state who requested anonymity explained that “it is gross corruption and economic suicide committed by the Prison State Director Brig. Bol Ador Ader. We had submitted letter to State Anti-corruption last year and no answer. Currently he misappropriated the Prison Pension funds of about 1,050,196 SSP with balance of 6,567SSP in the Account plus other funds used by him on personal games and benefit amounting to 2,866,786 with Lakes State Prison.”

Sudan Tribune obtained both National minister of Interior minister directive asking entire states top officials to implement South Sudan President policy to fight corruption in all form. Magaya say that in letted dated October 7, 2011 that “South Sudan President had renewed a zero-tolerance corruption, good governance and accountability policies.”

He added that “we submit another compliant to Lakes state military
Caretaker Governor Maj-Gen Matur Chut Dhuol but Governor downplay our
complain.”
