German FM Fischer to arrive in Khartoum Sunday
KHARTOUM, July 10, 2004 (SUNA) — German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, accompanied by State Minister at the German Foreign Ministry, is to arrive in Khartoum Sunday on an official visit to Sudan.
Fischer will meet with Sudanese counterpart, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, First Vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha and President of the Republic Gen. Omer Al-Bashir Fischer and Dr. Ismail on Monday will hold a press conference at the Foreign Ministry.
The visiting state minister, meanwhile, will visit al Fashir to meet with North Darfur governor and inspect Abu Showek camp and the German Red Cross camp.
Fischer will fly back on Monday while the state Minister will end her visit on Wednesday. Meanwhile, State Minister at the Foreign Ministry Najeeb al Khair Abdel-Wahab has welcomed the visit.
The visit is a good chance to promote Sudanese-German ties and demonstrate Sudan government’s efforts to restore stability and handle humanitarian situations in Darfur, he said.
