Warrap: Newly appointed commissioners sworn-in
September 13, 2013 (KUACJOK) – Three newly appointed commissioners in South Sudan’s Warrap state were on Friday sworn in, three days after their predecessors were removed.
Those sworn in were Wol Anei Anei, the commissioner of Gogrial East, Biar Biar Riing for Twic County and their Tonj South counterpart, William Wol Mayom.
Governor Nyandeng Malek presided over the ceremony.
In her remarks at the event, the governor urged the newly appointed commissioners to spearhead efforts aimed at consolidating peace and unity in the state.
It remains unclear why Malek removed the three county commissioners, with state authorities describing it as a normal exercise.
The move comes in the wake of ongoing lobbying for various cabinet positions within the state government, including heads of commissions and key departments.
