E. Equatoria governor appoints new minister, advisor

October 5, 2013 (TORIT) – The Governor of Eastern Equatoria state, Louis Lobong Lojore on Thursday issued several decrees, appointing a new minister and advisor, among others.

Paska Hifita Oduho, according to the decree, is the new gender, culture and social development minister, while Martin Odwar Lonuha becomes the state advisor on economy and development.

Lobong, in his gubernatorial order, also appointed a new mayor and deputy for the state capital, Torit while Nimule and Kapeota towns also got new town clerks and their deputies.

Stephen Osfaldo Loboli was appointed the new Torit municipal council mayor deputised by Marko Lokitoe Lokuta. The governor also chose Max Yousif Kalfalo as the Kapeota south town clerk with Alphonse Erenge as his deputy.

In Nimule town, David Eriga Enodiu takes over as new town clerk while Moses Odwar Mario becomes his deputy.

Recently, the state council of ministers and assembly passed a resolution upgrading Torit town into a municipality. Nimule and Kapeota were also transformed into town councils.

Meanwhile, in a separate decree, the governor formed county transfer and monitoring committees to ensure county financial management performance as well as to identify areas in need of capacity building support. These new committee include;

– Chairperson – ministry of local government, law enforcement & wildlife conservation
– Co-Chairperson – ministry of finance, commerce, investment & economic planning
– Secretary – ministry of finance, commerce, investment & economic planning
– Assistance secretary – – ministry of local government, law enforcement & wildlife conservation
– Member – Ministry of education, science & technology, youth & sports
– Member – Ministry of health
– Member – ministry of physical infrastructure
– Ministry of labour, public services & human resources development
– Secretariat general, government of Eastern Equatoria state
