Unknown assailants kill 35-year-old man in Rumbek Central county
November 22, 2013 (RUMBEK) – Authorities in Lakes state capital Rumbek said a 35-year- old man was killed on Thursday night by an unknown a group of men in what is a suspected revenge killing.
Officers from the criminal Investigation department (CID) in Rumbek Central county confirmed the incident, saying those suspected to be involved in the attack had been arrested and taken to Langcok military prison, where they are being held for questioning.
A security official who requested anonymity identified the victim as Chol Yuong.
The attack occurred at a Project Development Unit (PDU) site, located just one kilometre from the Lakes state legislative assembly.
Yuong was found dead in the morning with severe wounds to his body, and is believed to have been beaten to death by his assailants.
