Agreement between the Free Lions Movement and the Sudan Justice and Equality Movement

Aware that the primary cause behind the strife, repression, socioeconomic underdevelopment, and political marginalization experienced by the people of the regions in Sudan is caused by the monopolization, since independence, of wealth and power in the country by a small group of opportunists;

Convinced that the unity of the Sudan is threatened by real fragmentation that can only be averted if the removal the current Ingaz Government is secured;

Believing that the requisite just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved through the inclusion of all of Sudan’s regions and national political groups;

Aware that the free will of the Sudan’s regions is undefeatable and that in unity there is strength;

Confident of our ability to change the regime, which calls on all not to surrender to political repression and domination;

Translating these convictions and acting with resolve to realize our collective hopes for a united country that is just and free where all citizens are treated with equality and in the spirit of brotherhood, the two Movements agreed on the following:

(1) To continue on the path of armed resistance until the regime is toppled or the rights of all regions are secured from the Center;

(2) To unify their information, military, and political efforts;

(3) To amalgamate dialogue and negotiation forums;

(4) To call for a comprehensive approach to resolve all of Sudan’s regional problems as partial solutions fragment the country, perpetuate injustice and totalitarianism as well as the suffering of the people;

(5) To pursue the goal of unifying the revolutions of the marginalized;

(6) To strive toward the establishment of a democratic federal system that allows all of Sudan’s regions to actualize their political, economic, cultural and social rights.
