Khartoum to evacuate its citizens from South Sudan
January 2, 2014 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese government plans to evacuate all its nationals from South Sudan through Juba airport within the next 72 hours.
The pro-government Ashorooq TV said that on Wednesday 128 Sudanese citizens arrived in Khartoum airport along with 5 Pakistani nationals on Badr private airlines.
The returnees were received at Khartoum airport by the Director of Consulates and Expatriates at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Abdulaziz Mohammed Saleh and a number of state officials.
Saleh noted that there are 199 Sudanese who had been evacuated from Unity state capital of Bentiu using a United Nations flight to Heglig which is close to the borders.
