Government troops clashes themselves as some abused human right violation in fighting rebels areas
January 9, 2014 (BENTIU) – Heavy infighting broke out on Thursday evening in Mayom County between forces loyal to former rebels SSLA and government troop over alleged destruction tomb of late Lt. General Pualino Matip Nhial by soldiers from Dinka ethnic.
Many residents in the area are reported to have been targeted by some security personal in violating the human right abuse.
This week South Sudan president Kiir has declared states of emergency in both Unity and Jonglei state were rebels controlled after fighting broke out on 15 December.
Some people in South Sudan including civil society group were critical on the president decision over state of emergency describing it residents will be victims in the conflicting areas.
Peter Dak Khan is the Mayom county commissioner who is currently dislodged by fighting on Wednesday in the areas told Sudan Tribune on Thursday in an interview that forces fighting rebels have clashes among themselves over storming late Nhail tomb and ill-treatment of civilians.
The commissioner has reported that the government troops committed crimes on raping women, girls and rampart killing of civilian has resulted into inside fighting between themselves.
“I have been in communication with some soldiers including high militarily officers from government controlled areas that there was mistreatments on our people by Dinka soldiers on the innocent civilians and that is why they have turned guns on them instead of fighting the rebels”, said Khan.
The commissioner has reported the government troops went further attacking the spiritual leader known as “Gatdeng” in his residential areas shooting dead five of his sons.
He said, the same practice by December 15 is the one reoccurring in the area and has forced the sons and daughter allied to the government to take decision to fight them back.
The Unity rebels have been claiming it will not take them more than two-three days to flash out the government troops in the area. Already fighting emerged between government and their allied have weaken the fade of the forces loyal to government to be scared.
