In a meeting on Saturday with the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the International University of Africa (IUA), Bashir pointed to the role played by the university in disseminating education among Muslims in Africa, saying that education is the main tool for advancing Islam and empowering Muslims.

The university’s BoT had recently conducted its 20th meeting amid a large presence of scholars from Sudan and abroad.

Bashir praised the role played by the IUA students and graduates all over the world.

The head of the BoT, Mustafa Osman Ismail, said they are seeking to activate the role of the IUA domestically and regionally, saying that several facilities were opened on the sidelines of the BoT 20th meeting.

He also expressed a commitment to develop and modernise the university, adding that they would offer the necessary funding for IUA projects, as well as provide sponsorship for needy students.
