S. Sudan’s Kiir reshuffles heads of public universities
March 19, 2014 (JUBA) – President Salva Kiir reshuffled the top academics of South Sudan’s public universities in a republican decree read out on state television on Wednesday.
The president relieved seven vice chancellors in a decree. In the next decree he appointed five replacements.
The new Vice Chancellors of South Sudan’s universities are: John Akec – University of Juba, Samson Wasara – University of Western Bar el Ghazal in Wau, Isaac Chuir – Upper Nile University in Malakal, Julia Aker – John Garang University in Bor
Agrey Ayuen – University of Rumbek.
Agrey Abate, was relieved from his position as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Juba and not reappointed.
The decree also appointed two deputies for each university, one for academia and another for administration and finances.
