Sudanese president sends letter to Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince

June 10, 2014 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese president Omer Hassan al-Bashir sent a letter to the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Mohamed Bin Zayed al-Nayhan, on bilateral relations, Sudan’s official news agency (SUNA) reported.

The letter was delivered on Tuesday by Bashir’s office director Lieutenant General Taha Hussein Osman Ahmed who handed it over to United Arab Emirates (UAE) deputy prime minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Bin Zayed al-Nayhan.

The two men reviewed relations between UAE and Sudan and ways of supporting them in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries and also discussed several issues of common interest.

Today the speaker of the Sudanese parliament, al-Fatih Izz al-Din, told reporters that dialogue with Arab Gulf states has went a long way.

He went on to say that relations with UAE is progressing well, adding that security entities in both nations are conducting joint dialogues.

Sudanese officials recently acknowledged tensions in relations with Saudi Arabia and UAE are at a low point because of Khartoum’s apparent close ties with Iran and perceived support of Muslim Brotherhood movement in Egypt.
