Warrap: SPLM launches membership registration with calls for unity
June 19, 2014 (JUBA) – The branch office of South Sudan’s ruling party (SPLM) in Warrap state on Thursday began registering new members with calls for unity towards peaceful coexistence.
He urged party members, who comprised of state ministers, lawmakers and activists to engage in local negotiations and use the existing courts of law, if they were denied their rights in society.
“We have to change the mind and the attitude in a way consistent to the vision of the SPLM, which has always been advocacy for peaceful resolution of any political differences through dialogue”, said Kuac.
“We need to unite our people so that now and not tomorrow”, he further said.
The SPLM official said the party’s leadership would take direct responsibility to improve conditions and work to implement vital development projects to fulfill its 2010 general election pledges.
“Let us put our house in order and take the SPLM vision more seriously in our assignments. We must demonstrate the will to serve our people without prioritizing personal interest. We cannot achieve anything we do not accept the need to join hands with our leadership to actualize the objective of the SPLM vision”, Kuac appealed.
Warrap state’s deputy governor, Akech Tong, who spoke on behalf of the executives present at the occasion, called for unity and promotion of peace among all leaders in the border region.
