Sudan welcomes Paris’s role in settling Darfur issue
PARIS, August 01, 2004 (MENA) — Sudanese Ambassador here Abd-al-Basit Badawi on Sunday said that Khartoum was welcoming the role of Paris in settling the western Sudanese Darfur issue.
In press statements, the Sudanese ambassador said that France was one of the countries which are well acquainted with the nature of the area in question and its people.
The French soldiers stationed in Chad have already started extending relief assistance to the Darfur inhabitants.
France will start today the deployment of 200 soldiers along the borders between Darfur and Chad.
