Western Bahr el Ghazal receives Egyptian delegates

December 4, 2014 (WAU) – The Western Bahr el Ghazal state government has received officials from a visiting Egyptian delegation.

The visit follows an August trip to Cairo by of Western Bahr el Ghazal state governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan to lobby for investors.

Hassan welcomed delegation head Dr Majdi Mohamed Ibrahim, first undersecretary for the ministry of Agriculture in Alexander, as well as a number of other dignitaries, on Thursday.

The main purpose of the visit is to examine ways to boost Egyptians development in the region.

Ibrahim said capacity building in Western Bahr el Ghazal, as well as across South Sudan, was of particular interest.

The undersecretary underscored that Egypt is committed to providing capacity building for South Sudanese media outlets by offering training opportunities in Cairo.

“Alexander is ready to receive students from South Sudan in the university,” said Ibrahim.

“We are also concerned in training medical personnel in South Sudan on women’s health, as well our government is committed to help South Sudan in improving its Infrastructure as our main target,” he added.

Hassan described the visit by the Egyptian delegation as a dream come true.

“In our August visit to Cairo, we came up with four objectives: first was to create ties and benefits from Egypt skills and knowledge, Hassan said.

“Our main objective was also to find ways of getting product direct from Cairo and to avail potential [opportunities] in our country for investment and to create [a] twin relationship with Egypt,” he added.

As part of the visit, the delegation is also expected to spend some time in Wau observing the ministries and discussing investment requirements.
