Kuajok mayor takes new steps to develop town

March 24, 2015 (WUNROCK) – Kuacjok’s newly appointed mayor, Ajiek Ajiek Majok, has vowed to modernise the Warrap state capital and improve living standards for residents.

“There are numeral challenges that the residents Kuajok town are facing in terms of development, but as per my administration, all changes will be made to meet the standard needs of our people as my reward to my people,” he said.

“It has been my ambition to be appointed as the mayor of Kuacjok town, so I knew that there were challenges, but then I also have my plans,” he added.

Majok said he had written a project manuscript to assist him in his work to deliver better services to local people.

He said he had been moving around the town in recent towns to meet with city residents and the business community to ensure they were aware of the municipality’s consent processes and the system of service delivery.

The mayor said measures will also be taken to establish a better system of collecting revenues so the town can sustain itself.

Kuacjok city council was formed following a decree issued in late February by Madam Nyandeng Malek, with Majok appointed as mayor and Joseph Anei Mador as deputy.
