S. Sudan to establish police zone in W. Bahr el Ghazal state
April 21, 2015 (WAU) – The Inspector General of South Sudan’s Police Service, Peing Deng Majok is currently in Western Bahr el Ghazal state to oversee the planned establishment of a police zone in the Greater Bahr el Ghazal region.
Majok was welcomed on arrival by governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan.
“I have appreciated your government and the people of Western Bahr el Ghazal state for cooperating with the security organs and the police to make this state peaceful,” said Majok on arrival in the state capital, Wau, on Tuesday.
He said the Greater Bahr el Ghazal was chosen for the establishment of the regional police zone owing to its peaceful and politically stable nature.
“My mean visit is to establish a police zone for Greater Bahr el Ghazal which was established in the past, but was not effectively operating due to lack of funds,” he said.
Majok further said he would be meeting state police commissioners to discuss some difficulties they face in their work within the Greater Bahr el Ghazal region.
Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan has already availed land for the establishment of the police zone.
