Sudanese 2nd VP to visit Russia in late July
July 2, 2015 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese 2nd Vice President Abdel-Rahman Hassabo will travel to Russia on July 27th for talks on expanding cooperation between the two countries in political and economic fields, it was announced here today.
Hassabo met on Thursday with members of the Sudanese side in the Russian-Sudanese joint ministerial committee to deliberate on topics of discussion for his upcoming Moscow visit.
The visit will coincide with the 2nd meeting of the joint committee scheduled to take place in Russia.
The minister of Finance and Economy Badr al-Din Mahmoud Abbas said in remarks after talks with the VP that the two countries started to implement some of the items they agreed on in the areas of investments, especially in minerals, oil and gas sectors as well as electricity, health and education.
Abbas said they also touched on the debt issue, which they agreed to discuss in greater detail in the upcoming meetings of the joint ministerial committee.
He stressed that the VP’s visit will strengthen the evolving relations between Sudan and Russia.
