Over 700 boxes of emergency drugs delivered to Wau
July 13, 2015 (WAU) – South Sudan’s health ministry has delivered 734 boxes of emergency drugs from International Medical Corps (IMC) to Western Bahr el Ghazal state.
The donation was the first provisional medical support given to Western Bahr el Ghazal teaching hospital by IMC, since it signed a cooperation agreement in April this year with state ministry of health to support the hospital with necessary medical facilities.
The IMC manager, Tadese Fesseha acknowledged their role in providing antibiotics and anti-malaria drugs, such as quinine, to cater for the emergency needs at the hospital.
“We believe these drugs will help the hospital treat common diseases and will help the hospital provide its nearest centers within counties, payams and bomas,” he said.
Meanwhile state health minister, Isaac Cleto Hassan said the IMC donation of emergency drugs to Wau teaching hospital was delivered at the right time.
“The medical staffs at Wau teaching hospital will give drugs free of charge to patients in need of the available medications,” Hassan told reporters in Wau on Monday.
