Police kill two suspected criminals in W. Bahr el Ghazal state
July 25, 2015 (WAU) – The police in South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal state on Wednesday shot and killed two suspected criminals in the capital, Wau.
The suspects, an officer said, had attempted to break into a forex bureau in Wau before night patrol personnel on duty intercepted them and aborted their mission.
“Two [others] were hit by bullets when they also attempted to steal fuel from Eyat company’s barrels at night. The police guards clashed with them leaving as one was rushed to Wau teaching hospital, but died due to gun shots”, said Brig. Gen. Salah Isaac.
Salah, however, vowed to ensure the suspect is tried in court upon making full recovery.
“The one wounded on the leg is receiving medical treatment at Wau teaching hospital and will face the law after recovering,” he said.
Last month, the state governor, Rizik Zackaria Hassan directed security personnel operation to shot and kill night criminals got breaking into shops and attacking residents.
