Lakes state governor hospitalised in Germany
October 2, 2015 (RUMBEK) – The caretaker governor of South Sudan’s Lakes state Maj. Gen Matur Chut Dhuol has been admitted in a German hospital with chest complications.
The state information minister, Dut Makoi Kuok told Sudan Tribune on Thursday that the caretaker governor was successfully operated and his condition was very stable.
“The operation was done successfully since he left the state in August and now we are hoping for his well recovery,” he said.
Kuok assured that the governor will soon return to the state to resume his normal duties.
A highly controversial figure, Dhuol was appointed cartaker governor in January 2013 after president Salva Kiir removed the democratically-elected governor Chol Tong Mayay. However, calls for the caretaker governor’s removal have been ignored by the president.
