E. Equatoria decrees distribution of assets to newly created states
October 6, 2015 (TORIT) – The government of South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria state has issued an executive order for the formation of committees for the registration and distribution of assets, budget and human resources to the newly created states.
In the order, the board is mandated to identify and register all assets owned by the state as well as propose an equitable distribution of the registered assets.
The executive order also proposes division of the current state budget and available manpower amongst the new states proposed by South Sudan leader Salva Kiir.l
The seven-member committee will work to facilitate a smooth transition into the newly created states of Imatong and Namurnyang, initially part of Eastern Equatoria state.
The committee comprises people from different state institutions and departments, including parliament, national security, commissions, and the executive arm of the state.
