Earlier this week, Yasir Arman said the Sudanese government has suggested to some European nations to host hundreds of thousands of the Syrian refugees in return for money.

He also said the government expressed readiness to repatriate Sudanese nationals from Europe in order to relieve immigrants flow.

Nearly 700,000 migrants and refugees have crossed to Europe by sea so far this year, fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, according to a recent report by the International Organization for Migration.

While the influx of migrants continue to increase European governments consider collective dissuasive measures to stop them saying their hosting facilities are strained.

A Sudanese diplomat who requested anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media described to Sudan Tribune Arman’s statements as “irrational talk” and stressed they are “unfounded”.

He said that Sudan has opened its doors for the refugees for decades without haggling with any country.

The Sudanese diplomat further pointed that Sudan’s relations with the European countries are not strong enough to allow it make such demands.

“We are currently seeking to improve our ties with the European countries,” he added.

The diplomat also noted that Sudan is cooperating with the international community to fight against illegal immigration and human trafficking.

On Saturday, Sudan announced its participation in the European Union summit with African countries on illegal immigration and human trafficking in Valletta Malta on 11 and 12 November.
