SPLA in control of Juba-Nimule road after attack: spokesperson
November 19, 2015 (JUBA) – South Sudan army says it was in full control of the security situation on the Nimule-Juba highway following an attack in which at least people five people were reportedly killed when a passenger bus heading to Uganda was ambushed.
He described the incident as “a banditry act” which the government strongly condemns in the strongest possible terms, assuring citizens of all efforts to trace those involved in the attack.
According to Aguer, many of the passengers who fled in to the nearby bushes after the ambush occurred started returning upon the arrival of the army at the scene of crime.
We have not received any details of those killed and wounded in the attack, but preliminary reports show [that] at least five people, two of whom are Somali nationals, two Ugandans and a South Sudanese died, the army official admitted.
The passengers were traveling using Friendship bus when it was attacked in Moli area.
