Renowned activist Moses Ater said peace was an alternative to conflict and a common demand by South Sudanese.

Ater claimed the state government lacked cooperation skills, citing the cycle of revenge and mistrust citizens developed for the local administration.

Ater advocated for justice and equality for all citizens living in Lakes state.

“Everyone needs peace [but] will Lakes state government promote peace within it present siege of injustice and cycle of revenge without suspected people who kill innocent people captured and brought to face law?” he asked.

Meanwhile, several calls for President Salva Kiir to remove the caretaker governor, Matur Chut Dhuol have been ignored. Dhuol has allegedly failed to quell down insecurity in the state since his appointment in January 2012
