Two soldiers killed, another wounded in Wau state
January 28, 2016 (BAGARI) – Two soldiers were killed and another injured in South Sudan’s newly-created state on Wednesday, eyewitness told Sudan Tribune.
The incident occurred in Momio, located south of the state capital.
The shooting occurred as the state governor Elias Waya briefed Special Forces on crime prevention at the police headquarter in Wau town.
Governor Waya warned the army not to get involved in crime-related activities by acting responsibly, protecting civilians and properties.
A police officer, an eyewitness said, was shot dead by a South Sudanese army soldier, over claims the former failed to apprehend a murder suspect.
Wau town has, in recent months, experienced numerous cases of killings. At least a dozen people have reportedly been killed in Wau town since this year started.
