Sudanese army carries out fresh air attacks in Blue Nile: SPLM-N

A Sudanese “Antonov warplane dropped ten high explosive barrel bombs on Malken, Ullu and Alrom villages, west of Bau County in Blue Nile state on 28 January” said SPLM-N spokesperson, Arnu Ngutulu Lodi in a statement issued Saturday.

Lodi further said the air attack burned and destroyed many farms, killed Nine cows and 17 goats, and terrorised the civilians in the area.

The rebel official claimed that the bombing of civilian targets and ban of humanitarian access are part of an economic embargo the Sudanese government imposes on the Blue Nile and South Kordofan states.

Sudanese army spokesperson was not available for comment.

The government and SPLM-N failed to reach a negotiated solution to end the four-year conflict in the Two Areas. They also failed to strike a deal allowing humanitarian access to the affected civilians in the war zones.
