Jonglei’s newly-appointed ministers take oath

February 24, 2016 (BOR) – The newly appointed ministers of education, finance and the deputy governor South Sudan’s Jonglei state took oath at their offices in the capital, Bor.

Peter Wal Athiu is the new deputy governor while Ayom Mach Jok and Suzan Lith Aluong were appointed finance and education ministries respectively.

The governor of Jonglei state, Phillip Aguer, advised the newly appointed officials to help him achieve his priorities in the finance, education as well as political arena.

“Our key priorities in finance is to mobilise resources for security and roads,” said Aguer.

He added, “If we do these, will have answered why do we have the government”.

Meanwhile Wal assured the governor he would cooperate for the success of the state.

“I want to assure you my governor, that I will not disappoint you and I will not disappoint the people of Jonglei. We will work together, for the welfare of this people, because your ideas are the same s mine”, he said.

The finance minister said he would help the state generate revenues for development.

“I know that the main duty of the ministry is to control, and to generate revenue for the development of the people of Jonglei state. I will not let you down”, assured Ayom.
