Over 190 graduate from Mikese University in Yambio

February 27, 2016 (Yambio) – 191 students graduated with Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor degrees from Mikese University in its third batch since the institution was established in 2009 to be the only private university in Western Equatoria state.

The Governor of Gbudue state, Major General Patrick Raphael Zamoi congratulated the graduates and the administration of the University for a “job well done” through the lecturers and the colorful graduation ceremony in Yambio.

Zamoi pledged his moral supports towards the university and vowed to be more physically involved than before as it is the only institution in the state which is close to the people and that government was willing to make sure the university is running.

He requested the Yambio county authority to allocate vast land which could accommodate the university departments and further pledged five new tractors for the university’s Agriculture department for demonstrations and practical during studies.

While speaking at the occasion, Zamoi urged everybody and those who graduate to communicate peace and promote peace among the people. He added that, the final peace deal between the South Sudan National Liberation Movement/Army and the Government will be signed soon and the President of the Republic of South Sudan SalvaKiir is willingly want to reach the permanent peace in Western Equatoria.

Meanwhile the commissioner of Yambio County Hussein Enocka described the event as remarkable, stressing that Mikese University was graduating future leaders of steer forward the county and that graduates should be exemplary in their communities.

The acting chancellor of Mikese university, Bishop Hiiboro Eduardo said since societies were growing worldwide, there was need for people to seek higher education first in order to have a vision on how develop and bring services closer to poor people.

He encouraged young men and women who complain about lack of jobs to look to government, private sector and Non-Governmental Organisations as key employers.

The Bishop also urged the graduands not to first look for riches, but rather be job creators and not seekers by creating projects that will benefit and develop the young nation.
