Two killed along Bor-Juba road: witnesses
March 29, 2016 (JUBA) – Two people were killed on Bor-Juba road Tuesday when unknown gunmen opened fire on a passenger bus, survivors and eyewitnesses said.
Several other people were reportedly left with injuries following the highway attack.
“The gunmen opened fire on our car, killing one South Sudanese and one Ugandan,” said a survivor.
Some of the photos shared on social media showed bloody bodies and a stained vehicle.
Bor-Juba highway is popular with traders between towns and residents returning to Jonglei state after fleeing the area in the aftermath of the December 2013 outbreak of war.
The gunmen, eyewitnesses said, fired several bullets on the vehicle carrying passengers.
Those killed included a Ugandan, South Sudanese, but the rest were not easily identified.
